FIREFIGHTERS were called to a pub in Wimborne on Saturday afternoon.
Roads around the Pudding and Pye - which is closed for renovation - were shut while firefighters fought the flames.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire was between the ground and first floor and was believed to have started in a hearth, spreading to rafters.
Firefighters were called shortly after 2pm and had dealt with the incident by 3.45pm.
The damage was restricted to the hearth, rafters and fire stack, with light smoke damage to the ground and first floors.
