THE Row2Recovery Atlantic rowing team – including Poole’s Neil Heritage – will be honoured at a fundraising dinner in London.
The team need a final push to reach their target of £1million for their chosen charities.
A homecoming dinner at London’s Plaisterers Hall will include a first-hand account from all six crew members of the highs and lows of the gruelling 3,000-mile journey they completed earlier this year.
Iraq veteran Neil Heritage who lost both legs in a suicide bomb attack in 2004, teaches athletics at Allenbourn Middle School in Wimborne.
The six-strong rowing crew battled equipment failure and dehydration as they crossed the Atlantic. They are raising money for Help For Heroes, ABF The Soldiers Charity and SSAFA Forces Help.
Tables of 10 cost £3,000 and individual places £320. Visit row 2rec overy.com/homecomingdinner
