WHETHER you object to the proposed Navitus Bay wind farm or not, one thing’s for sure. It would be intriguing to see how visible the temporary meteorological mast that Eneco wants to erect would be.
Bournemouth council has objected to the plan for this mast fearing its impact on tourism. Interesting. That suggests the way the wind is blowing.
If the council think onemast could affect tourism, they must be having kittens about what would happen if the windfarm gets the go-ahead.
We don’t know for sure how many turbines could be located in the Navitus Bay project or how big they will all be. And there is a discrepancy between the visualisations put forward by Eneco and those suggested by the Challenge Navitus opponents.
Reports suggest a typical turbine might be up to 205m to its tip and the nearest 10.2miles from Bournemouth Pier.
The temporary mast would be 100m and eight miles from Bournemouth.
At least it would give us a clue.
