A DAY of talks and film screenings is planned to celebrate cinematic talent from Bournemouth and the rest of the south west region.
‘Uncover South West’ will be held at the Life Centre in Winton on Saturday, May 5 and will include a masterclass with Mark Blaney, a Bournemouth graduate and the producer of Africa United, and a discussion with Rebecca Pearson, assistant location manager for films including the Iron Lady and the currently-in-production film adaptation of Les Miserables.
The event will also include screenings of all the shortlisted entries from the Arts University College’s short film competition.
It has been organised by final year students from AUCB’s arts and event management course.
Team leader Cher Jackson said: “The south west has produced some incredibly talented members of the film industry but this isn’t always recognised.
“Uncover South West aims to draw attention to all the talent we have right here on our doorstep and hopefully inspire future generations of film-makers.”
The event will run from 10am until 5pm. Tickets cost £8 and are available from www.uncoversouthwest.co.uk.
