HOW’S this for a Catch 22 situation?
The residents of a block of flats haven’t had their rubbish collected for weeks – because there is too much rubbish in the way.
Bournemouth council’s version of events differs from that offered by the residents in Sea Road, Boscombe.
In the residents’ version, the council first failed to empty the bins for a fortnight, and it was only then that black bags began stacking up.
The way the council sees it, people have been leaving waste on the ground and blocking the wheelie bins.
Either way, those responsible people who’ve been putting out their allocated amount of waste each week have been left with a smelly problem.
The story comes to light in the same week the Echo told how Bournemouth council took away a man’s shoes as a fire hazard because he’d left them in the corridor outside his flat.
If only a stack of bin bags could disappear that quickly.
