A MOTOR launch used by Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge before their wedding has gone on sale in Poole.

The royal couple were famously snapped frolicking aboard the 40ft boat, Tapeka Point, while holidaying in Ibiza in 2006.

Among their party was Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton, who found herself at the centre of a Paris gun storm this week following the antics of a wealthy acquaintance.

Images of bikini-clad Kate and Pippa, pictured diving off the back of the vessel, circulated the world after their release.

Tapeka Point, now berthed at Salterns Marina, Lilliput, is being sold by Bournemouth-based online auction company Asset Bidder.

Spokesman fo the company John Elsmore told the Daily Echo the yacht’s royal connection had generated significant interest from America, the Far East and China.

He explained: “This isn’t the sort of thing we normally deal with, but the guy who owns the boat rang me up and asked if I could sell it for him.

“I think it will go for a higher price because of the royal association.

John says the recent media furore over Pippa Middleton’s social life has only served to intensify interest.

“The auction has started and we’ve had lots of interest,” he said. “The starting price is around £120,000 and we’ve taken bids from the United States and even a couple from China.

“We’re advertising elsewhere and I’m confident it will get a good price.

“Normally we sell machinery and plant equipment, but after this who knows? Maybe this could be the way forward for us?”
