ANYONE who saw Florence Welch, pictured above, perform at the BIC last month will have been impressed with the quality of her show.
This live album from the Brit-winning songstress and her band is a real treat for fans, and follows in the footsteps of Sir Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Alicia Keys.
Recorded in New York and accompanied by a 10-piece gospel choir, with Kanye West and Q-Tip in the studio audience, Welch takes listeners on stripped-down renditions of tracks from her first album, Lungs, and her second, Ceremonials, including Dog Days Are Over, Cosmic Love and Shake It Out.
Welch’s stunning vocals sound beautiful on Breaking Down, Never Let Me Go and No Light, No Light. Her duet with Josh Homme on Johnny Cash’s Jackson and her cover of Otis Redding’s Try A Little Tenderness will not disappoint either.
