THE word inspirational is used far too casually these days, but it is certainly a description that Dee Bayliss fully merited.
For want of a better phrase, Dee was something of a poster girl for Race for Life.
She has been battling cancer since 2007.
The disease has affected many different parts of her body and she underwent major surgery.
She was a big supporter of the Race for Life - an event which has done a massive amount to raise awareness of and funds for cancer research.
Dee was due on stage at this year’s races to offer some words and encouragement to those taking part.
She died on Sunday and her place on stage will be taken by her husband.
As a tribute to Dee, who spent her life helping others, one cannot do better than the words of Race for Life event manager, Rachel White.
She was one amazing lady.
