HUNDREDS of holidaymakers flocked to a new travel show organised by Bournemouth Airport.
More than 30 exhibitors attended the event held at the Norfolk Royale Hotel, to give a flavour of the options which are flying from Bournemouth.
The exhibitors included Newmarket Holidays, Anatolian Sky, Premier Holidays, Bath Travel, Canterbury Travel, Prestige Holidays and Cyprus Tourism.
Patrick Alexander from Bournemouth Airport said: “A lot of customers have asked us what’s available, so we decided to launch the holiday show to showcase all the different things we are doing.
“So it’s really been led by local people and so far, so good, it has been very busy.
The idea is to see how it goes and maybe have another show later in the year.
“We have a whole range of airlines and tour operators here and they are finding it really useful too.”
Mark Riddle, retail sales manager from Newmarket Holidays, said: “Bournemouth is our strongest airport and we fly from 26 different places.
“All our destinations are available from Bournemouth including Sicily, Lake Garda and Dubrovik and we have probably got several thousand passengers in the local area.”
He added: “It is a real success story for us.”
Daily flights with Aer Lingus to Dublin from Bournemouth will be launched next week.
