A MAN who left one of his victims in a pool of blood with a fractured skull has admitted the attack.
Polish Artur Purtak was in hospital for three days and had to return for surgery after being assaulted on his way home through Westbourne in the early hours of May 1 last year.
A trial started at Bournemouth Crown Court this week after Richard Stuart Taylor denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Mr Purtak and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on his friend Mariusz Jarzynski.
But the 21-year-old later admitted a lesser charge of inflicting GBH.
When his plea was accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service he also admitted the assault charge.
The court heard how a second attacker had run off after Mr Jarzynski tried to protect his friend but he was never traced.
DC Sam Davies said both Polish men had suffered “horrendous” injuries, adding: “Artur has really been through the mill.”
Taylor, of no fixed abode, will be sentenced on May 22.
