A NEW exhibition is offering local artists an opportunity to display and sell their work at Moors Valley Country Park.
The park’s visitor centre will host Colour in Nature from Saturday May 19 to Sunday June 17 and the exhibition is the first to be held at the venue which is open to any artist producing two-dimensional work.
Artists working in media including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, textiles, mosaic and mixed-media, are invited to submit up to three items for the exhibition.
Moors Valley ranger Katie Davies said: “This is a great opportunity for local artists of all ages and abilities to showcase their work. “We have established a very good reputation for the quality of the photographic exhibitions that we have hosted in recent years and we want to extend this to other visual arts.
“While we can only accept two-dimensional work, we are interpreting the brief as broadly as possible. The main requirements are that the work must be the artist’s own and must not be a reproduction.
“Pieces can be offered for sale or can simply be exhibited for the pleasure of seeing them on display.”
An information sheet containing full details of how to exhibit is available from Katie Davies by calling Moors Valley Country Park on 01425 470721 or emailing ktdavies@eastdorset.gov.uk
