A NEW charity transport service is taking over the running of Bournemouth Community Transport and the BAT Bus.
The new charity service, called Sedcat, is available to anyone with a postcode from BH1 to BH11.
There is a £6 annual membership charge and each shopping trip costs £5.
The service picks up people from their homes and takes them to shopping centres.
It helps the elderly, and anyone who is not able to use public transport.
From May 1 there will be a morning bus calling at the Sovereign Centre then Asda, and one calling at Castlepoint and Castle Lane Tesco.
Alison Morrison from Sedcat said: “There are so many people in our community in desperate need of help with transport.
“Increasing access is an important step in the battle against loneliness and depression.”
To join and for more information, please telephone Alison Morrison on 01202 598295 or Dave Parsons on 01202 399700.
Alternatively, you can email Alison at alison.morrison@se dcat.org.uk
