On a very wet and windy day members of Christchurch Central WI battled the elements to join other women around the world in support of ACWW’s (Associated Country Women of the World) “Women Walk the World”.
The walk raised money in solidarity and support of rural women, for poverty and sickness relief and the advancement of education for many developing countries.
The walk commenced at the Mayor’s Parlour, then along the Quay to The Captain’s Table, raising money by donation rather than sponsorship and all proceeds will go to ACWW.
Christchurch Central WI has a busy and varied programme and meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month in the Baptish Church Hall in Bargates @ 10am. Visitors are most welcome.
