SONGWRITER and producer Adam Scholey has finally revealed his highly anticipated solo project Sounds Like Adam. The Poole and Bournemouth-based musician has spent several years founding various hard rock bands and now plans to make his own mark.
His ten year strong career combines elements and influences from bands such as Bowling For Soup, Embrace and James, and Scouting For Girls. The result is a new pop-flavoured, punk-tinted and atmospheric sound.
Sounds Like Demos Part 1, a free 6-track download is available now, while ‘Part 2’ sees digital release on June 18 via iTunes as well as good old fashioned CD. Although he recorded the material at just 16 years old on “very cheap, brittle and contra-Abbey Road equipment before I really knew what sound quality, depth, clarity, width, balance, music, ears, criticism or reality were”, it represents an era of creation still close to his heart.
Sounds Like Adam’s first full-length album, featuring brand new material has been pencilled in for a very late 2012 release.
Adam will be performing a set of piano renditions of his material at Wave 105’s Cash For Kids fundraiser on June 30.
