A TASTE of the cultural Olympiad comes to Poole this May Bank Holiday with the annual Street Arts Festival.
There will be free family fun throughout the day on Monday May 7 with a packed programme on Poole Quay ranging from traditional maypole dancing with Springstep to Bunny Hop Bicycle Ballet where spectacular bike tricks and comedy combine.
For a taste of the absurd see the metamorphosis of Bruce Airhead and his giant six-foot green balloon in an original piece of street art.
Test your skills with Lady Glossop and her 1908 Glorious Games and learn more about the Edwardian take on the original Olympic trials including egg and spoon and hopping races.
The fun starts at 11am and throughout the day until 5pm there will be music from Djambo and Not Just Sax as well street magician David Paine.
“Events like this help you see familiar surroundings in a new light – you can be sure of catching something that will delight and entertain,” said Bruce Grant-Braham, chairman of Poole Tourism Partnership.
