JULIA’S House is urging people to have a flutter and help smash its target of 1,000 lottery supporters by the end of the month.
The children’s charity has nearly 900 players and is hoping to boost numbers during National Flutter Week from May 7 to 11.
The Julia’s House lottery was launched at the end of 2011 in a bid to provide a regular income for the charity after a particularly difficult fundraising year.
Organiser Emma Tipple said: “For every £1 ticket we sell, the hospice gets 50p which is a much bigger return than other lotteries.
“By supporting us in this way, players are directly helping families of very poorly children in Dorset.
“Just think, if 500 people sign up, it could help fund a part-time nurse for a year.”
The lottery has already had 118 winners. The odds offer a one in 63 chance of winning a weekly cash prize of £5, £25, £1,000 or a jackpot £25,000.
