A water main burst in Blandford Road, Hamworthy in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Emergency repair work was carried out before the water supply was restored at around 10.30am.
Alternative water supplies were made available for residents living in the Turlin Estate area who were without water.
Wessex Water provided bottled water and water bowsers.
