A TEENAGER from Bournemouth says she plans to enter more beauty contests after her experience of Miss Universe.
Romy Simpkins, 18, right, from Queens Park, took part in her first contest in Birmingham on Saturday and although she did not score a top place, said she “really enjoyed” the experience.
She said: “The overall winner is going to be 22 this year and has already won Miss Cardiff and the rest had won stuff before. They all knew the judges already.
“This was my first one and I really enjoyed it and made some nice friends.
“It made me feel like a new person and more confident.
“I would definitely consider another one; it’s just finding the right one.”
Romy is currently studying a diploma in early years education at Brockenhurst College and her goal is to run her own nursery school.
She raised cash for the Hemraj Goyal Found-ation, which supports a variety of good causes in the UK and overseas, during her Miss Universe campaign.
