A GROUP of care home residents with learning disabilities have raised £150 for a Poole school’s funds by selling healthy snacks to pupils.
Two to four residents from Talbot Wood Lodge, in Bournemouth, have been visiting Hillbourne School to bring youngsters tasty but nutritious treats.
The full team paid a special visit to the Kitchener Crescent school to hand over the funds.
Kelly Clark, senior carer at Talbot Wood Lodge, said: “We’ve been visiting Hillbourne since Christmas and it’s brought great community presence being able to go out into the community, meeting the children and assisting them with choosing healthy eating options.
“It’s given the residents an extra lease of life, doing something new.”
Snacks are sold from a special trolley, which the residents organise and wheel out into the playground.
