A CHILDCARE provider brought out the flags and bunting to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee for the next two months.
Joy Colmer, who runs Joy’s Funhouse in Winton, started the Jubilee celebrations on May 1, and the festivities will continue until the end of June, entailing 60 activities for the children, inspired by the Queen.
Joy said: “We’ve done maypole dancing, we’re going to make jam tarts and the Queen’s hats, learn about curtseying and how the Queen speaks.
She added: “We have 16 children on the books, with around three or four each day, and they all absolutely love it.
“The children have been playing outside, come rain or shine, in their wellies.
“We’re also making the Crown Jewels, sticking together corgis, planting fruit and vegetables with names linking them to the Queen, and wearing white gloves to wave like Her Majesty.
“We’ve got to be very patriotic, the children love it, and there’s so much learning involved.”
She added: “In July, we will do activities for two months on the London Olympics.
“The children have really taken to it.”
