A Dorset firm marked its 100th anniversary with events at the weekend.
Hoburne Holiday Parks was formed 100 years ago on Monday and events on Sunday and Monday marked the occasion.
It culminated with current managing director of the company, James Lapage, finishing a 350-mile, six-day cycle ride around all seven parks.
Having started in Cornwall, he finished at Hoburne in Christchurch on Bank Holiday Monday. His sister, Sue Marchant, accompanied him on the ride.
James said: “We were very fortunate, we didn’t even get a puncture and we had a lovely welcome everywhere we went.
“It’s been a challenge but we had a lot of support along the way and it was a nice feeling to have arrived.”
The cash James raised will go towards the £100,000 target that Hoburne has set itself to raise in aid of cancer charity CLIC Sargent in its 100th year.
All of the firm’s parks have been celebrating. On Sunday, Hoburne Naish in New Milton released hundreds of multi-coloured balloons into the sky in a fundraising balloon race and there was also an old-fashioned sports day with an egg and spoon race, tug-of-war and dads’ race taking place.
On Monday, Hoburne’s Christchurch park continued the fun with an appearance from Sammy Seahorse, which entertained children with songs and dance.
James added: “All the parks have been filled and there’s been lots of parties going on.”
