BEST buddies Leila Willingham, 12, from Branksome Park in Poole and Lili Donlon-Mansbridge, also 12, from Broadstone, have whisked up a donation for Poole hospice Forest Holme.

The two school chums, who attend St Edward’s School and Parkstone Grammar School in Poole, decided to bake and sell cakes in aid of the 10-bed hospice, which is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The girls sold a mix of home-made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes from a driveway in Broadstone to hungry passers-by and raised £30.

Leila said: “We had seen on Newsround that you could sell from your driveway. Lili and I love baking and I had heard about Forest Holme because the hospice cared for a friend of my mum’s and did a brilliant job.

“We thought it would be selfish to just sell the cakes for our own gain so decided to give the money to the hospice.”

She added: “The hardest part was not being tempted to eat any of the cakes ourselves!”
