A YOUNG hairdresser proved she has what it takes when she scooped the Hair and Beauty Student of the Year award.
Kirsty Clark, a year 11 pupil at Blandford School was awarded at North Dorset Skill Centre, part of Yeovil College.
The award is given to the student that the tutors feel is most likely to succeed in the industry and comes at the end of a two-year vocational programme designed for 14 to 16-year-olds as an aative to GCSEs.
Kirsty has secured an apprenticeship with Sleek & Chic Hair Design in Blandford, with day release at Paragon Training.
She said: “The tutors at the North Dorset Skill Centre were really good they made the course really enjoyable; I loved the practical side of the programme.”
