RATHER than too many, it was a case of not enough cooks when cakes were snapped up at a charity bake sale.
Staff from Specsavers cooked up a storm to sell off their baked goods at their store in Poole town centre in aid of Diverse Abilities Plus, which looks after the needs of disabled children and adults across Dorset.
The sale is part of the charity’s Great Dorset Bake Sale fundraiser, which urges people to hold charity bake sales throughout May to collect cash.
Specsavers public relations spokeswoman Louise Swash approached the store manager about holding a sale after reading about Diverse Abilities Plus and the work the charity does throughout the county.
She said: “We did really well and we had to extend into the Dolphin Centre – we had so much interest we had to do two stalls and we raised over £100 in the first couple of hours.
“We saw the details of the charity and I think it’s a really good charity because they’ve got their fingers in so many pies. It’s amazing really.”
