IT’S best foot forward for Dorset fundraiser Angela Inwards, as she prepares to take part in The MoonWalk.
The 56-year-old reflexologist is taking part in the event, where participants walk either a marathon or half marathon around London, starting in Hyde Park at midnight, to raise money for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
Avid fundraiser Angela, from Lake Road in Verwood, has taken part in marathons in London and New York for PHAB, which creates opportunities for children and adults of all abilities to enjoy life together.
She has also completed a triathlon in aid of the NSPCC and the Great North Run for Get Kids Going over the last few years, raising almost £5,000 in total.
She said: “I have been wanting to do this event for many years now. I sadly lost my auntie to breast cancer 18 years ago and a cousin of mine had a mastectomy and reconstruction two years ago.
“Now another cousin has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is having surgery within the next week or so.
“I feel very passionately about this cause. I am also selling raffle tickets with all proceeds going to the charity, the prize is a one hour reflexology treatment from me.”
Participants in the MoonWalk traditionally wear decorated bras, and Angela has created a red, white and blue outfit to tie in with the Olympics.
She has already raised nearly £400 and is hoping to reach a £1,000 target. To sponsor her, visit walkthewalkfundraising.org/angela_in wards
