FILM Production students at Arts University College at Bournemouth won four awards in a national competition.
The Kodak Student Commercial Awards saw 3rd Year students, Nick Rowland, Kavita Lockchander, Jon Hudson and Ciaran Maginn, awarded first place in the Best In Brief category for their film, Teenage Moments.
They were also first for Best Cinematography in the Best in Craft category and third in the Best Overall category, for their film, which was created for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Declan Hardy also won first place for Best Script/Copywriting in the Best in Craft Awards category for his brief film, British Drinkers, which he wrote and directed for Spitfire Ale.
Nick Rowland, director of Teenage Moments, said: “It was a huge honour to receive the most awards of the night for our film and it’s really encouraging to see that the film students of the AUCB are firmly at the top of undergraduate level.
“The competition was of a very high standard, but the fact that in total, AUCB students collected four awards from Kodak goes to show how much we enjoyed working on our entries and how much effort the crews put in.
“It’s great to hear that the competition will run again next year so I hope AUCB can continue to enjoy more success in the future.”
Running for over 30 years, the Kodak Student Commercial Awards invites student filmmakers in the UK and Ireland to produce a 30-45-second commercial off one 400ft roll of 16mm Kodak negative stock.
The awards were handed out by renowned film director Sir Alan Parker, who directed Evita and Angela’s Ashes.
