GREEN-FINGERED pupils from St Joseph's Catholic Primary school in Christchurch are learning about the journey of food to plate.
It is part of an on-going project with The Pig Hotel and Restaurant in Brockenhurst.
The young gardeners were taken on a tour of the animals and gardens by head chef James Golding and gardener Ollie Hutson.
“The aim was to show the children the importance of growing your own vegetables and eating produce that is all around you,” explained James.
“The children were also able to meet our pigs and plant broad beans to take home and grow on their own.”
The children will be returning to The Pig later in the year to see how the kitchen garden has developed.
