A HORSE had a lucky escape after getting stuck on a metal gate near stables in Corfe Mullen.
Firefighters rushed to free the frightened gelding, a five-year-old called Yogi, at Whites Farm Stud riding school and livery stables yesterday.
Yogi had bolted and tried to jump the gate on his own, but was left straddled over it in some distress.
A specially-trained animal rescue team from Poole fire station attended the farm at Brickyard Lane, around midday.
They were forced to wait until a vet sedated the Yogi, who stood 17 hands – around 5ft 8ins – tall, before starting their rescue.
The horse was eventually freed unharmed.
