THE deadline for nominations in this year’s Bourne Brilliant Awards will close in just a week’s time.
People wishing to nominate a deserving young person for the Daily Echo-backed awards scheme have until Friday, May 25 to do so.
The prestigious awards scheme seeks to celebrate the achievements of the town’s young people – not just the high achievers but also those who work hard at improving the lives of others in their youth groups, schools and in their communities and those who have overcome hurdles to succeed. The scheme, which is now in its fourth year, aims to show young people in a positive light, helping to ensure they are congratulated for the good they do and are recognised as valuable members of the community.
The event will culminate in a black tie event at the Royal Bath Hotel on Thursday, July 5.
Some of the town’s biggest businesses and organisations will be handing over awards, including Abbey Life, JP Morgan, Yellow Buses, the Steve Bernard Foundation and the North Bournemouth Rotary Club. However there are still several awards that require a sponsor and any company interested in paying £400 to sponsor an award should contact Claire Escott on 07920 756696.
Nominations can be made by completing the form below. Youngsters simply need to be aged between 13 and 21 on July 5, live in Bournemouth or attend school in the borough.
There are many different categories – arts star, sports star, inspirational role model, young local hero, young star of the future, triumph over adversity, young carer, outstanding contribution to the community, young volunteer and most successful young team.
