THE glorious age of steam returns to Poole Quay on Saturday with a festival of miniature traction engines.
Now in its third year, Mini Steam on the Quay is part of Wave 105 Summertime in the South and will see some of the most beautiful and detailed miniature steam traction engines, some of which have featured on the Discovery Channel, from 10am to 5pm.
Featuring up to 20 unique miniature traction engines, the event is organised by local enthusiasts Richard Harvey and Nigel Moody and includes the chance to ride on the special engines.
“It’s always a pleasure sharing our knowledge and experience and it is great to see how enthusiastic the public are about these wonderful engines,” said Richard.
Bruce Grant-Braham, chairman of Poole Tourism Partnership, said: “Mini Steam on the Quay is a fantastic opportunity to quiz the experts and see these beautiful machines up close.”
In order to host the event, the quayside will be closed to traffic from 9am to 6pm.
