A 41-year-old pharmaceutical company worker died after overdosing on drugs and alcohol, an inquest heard yesterday.
Robert Sparks was found dead in his flat at San Remo Towers in Sea Road, Boscombe, on January 20.
His flatmate, croupier Wayne Hilton told the Bournemouth hearing how he had thought Mr Sparks was asleep on the settee following a heavy drinking session.
When he realised Mr Sparks was dead he alerted emergency services. A postmortem showed that he had consumed more than four and a half times the legal alcohol drink-drive limit as well as methadone and prescribed medication.
Sgt Timothy Ward said there had been no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Spark’s death.
East Dorset Coroner Sheriff Payne recorded a verdict that he had died from non-dependent use of drugs, combined with alcohol.
