WE may be in the middle of a heat wave, but it’s never too early to start getting excited about the film we’ll all be wanting to see this Christmas.
The first trailer for the much-anticipated film adaptation of The Great Gatsby surfaced on the internet yesterday and has been creating a buzz ever since.
The movie, which is based on F Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel of the same name, stars Tobey Maguire, Brit actress Carey Mulligan and Leonardo di Caprio.
The story takes place in New York in 1922 and is told from the perspective of Nick Carraway (Maguire) who finds himself drawn to the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbour, Jay Gatsby (di Caprio).
If you’re thinking the cinematic style looks familiar, the man behind the upcoming visual spectacular is Australian director Baz Luhrmann who’s previous works include Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet.
The Great Gatsby is released on December 26 and will be available in both 2D and 3D.
