COUNCIL staff carried out an “enviro clean” in Boscombe and hope more residents will help out next time.
They cleaned up Windsor Road from 6.30am to 1pm after a special road closure was put in place.
Staff from street cleansing and highways were joined by neighbourhood wardens.
The clean-up was carried out after complaints about rubbish.
There is no room to store bins except on the street, which tempts passing pedestrians to dump rubbish, exacerbating the problem.
Warden Amanda Catlin said: “It went really well. We did flyer the street heavily beforehand but we didn’t have that many residents.
“We have a meeting with the homewatch group and hopefully people see we are trying get something going.”
