MORE spaces have opened up on AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust’s National Citizen Service programme due to popular demand.
Thirty places on the project were quickly snapped up by youngsters and the trust can now offer 11 more spots for 16-year-old school leavers on the voluntary scheme.
The free programme includes two residential weeks at Corfe Castle and Liddington in Swindon, with a range of activities such as canoeing, high ropes, caving and abseiling.
It also requires a minimum of 30 hours spent planning and delivering a social action project which benefits the local community.
Participants round off the course with a graduation ceremony and tickets to see England play one of their 2014 World Cup qualifiers at Wembley.
Head of the Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss said: “This is such a broad programme and it gives young people the chance to experience new things and learn a host of new skills.
“It certainly will be something they won’t forget and will stand them in good stead when it comes to their university and job applications in the future.”
