EVEN horses wore bras at the first ever Jugs and Gee Gees event, which raised more than £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The equestrian take on the popular London Moonwalk was a day-time sponsored horse ride in the New Forest organised by 31-year-old Anna Moors of Ringwood and Emma Morgan, 33, of Bournemouth.
The two women were inspired by their friend Annie Nadin of Fordingbridge, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last October.
“We regularly hear how cancer affects the lives of others, but when it happens to someone you know, it feels very different,” explained Anna.
“We wanted to do something to help Annie and others too. One girlie weekend away, Emma and I somehow came up with the idea.
“It was then that Jugs and Gee Gees was born.”
The event started from the Arniss equestrian centre at Godshill, Fordingbridge, and took riders on a four-hour hack, stopping off at local pubs to collect further donations.
Anna and Emma continued the last leg of the ride on their own to the Bat and Ball pub in Breamore, where they were met by supporters for a fundraising barbecue.
Donations can still be made at justgiving.com/ jugsandgeegees.
