BOURNEMOUTH swing band, The Regular Joes has been exporting their energetic sound across the water at the City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival. The band is now back home after playing at five venues across the historic city of Derry in Northern Island.
The Joes were invited to play at the last minute to replace their friends The Jive Aces who had the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals to attend.
The festival attracted over 40,000 music fans from all over the world for the largest ever music festival held in the region and included sets by Van Morrison and Ruby Turner.
The Regular Joes are an 11-piece band who specialise in the dance music of the jumpin’, jivin’ era in between the big bands and rock ‘n’ roll.
Their unique style is described by the bands as “old-school R&B, Jump Blues and classic Swing along with a tasty sprinkling of The Rat Pack to serve you up a swingin’, dancin’ treat!”
You can next see The Regular Joes at the Verwood Hub on June 16 and the Larmer Tree Festival on July 13.
