THIS striking exhibit by two Bournemouth florists has earned a Silver Gilt at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The Message was conceived and created by award-winning Interflora florists David Ragg and David Denyer, from Lansdowne Florists, and features tall shards of colour to create dramatic visual impact across the display.
Each one is surrounded by intricate floral details flowing throughout the design in waves of colour and texture, taking inspiration from modern day architecture such as the Shard building in London.
David Ragg said: “We are really proud of what we have achieved.
“To win a Silver Gilt at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for Interflora is a wonderful accolade and the judges have clearly warmed to our idea.”
David Denyer added, “I’m totally thrilled with our award.
“On the whole it has been a fantastic effort this year which the public are absolutely loving.”
David Denyer’s passionate approach to floristry has already earned him five Gold Medals and four Best in Show titles at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
He has held the titles of Interflora Florist of the Year and Interflora World Champion. David Ragg was born into a floristry family and has followed in the footsteps of his mother and grandmother in choosing floristry as his career.
His career has seen him win numerous accolades, with four Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medals to his name.
He was also the Interflora Florist of the Year in 2000.
The two David’s have known each other for more than 20 years, working on various award-winning projects.
They are tutors at the Interflora Flower School, and were behind Inteflora’s previous two Gold medal winning Chelsea exhibits.
