A DORCHESTER man has received a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of sexual offences against children more than two decades ago.
Following a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court, Adrian Strong, 59, was found guilty of two counts of indecency with a child.
The charges were related to Strong, of Stowcastle Street, Poundbury, Dorchester, exposing himself to two teenage babysitters while he lived on Portland in the 1980s.
Jurors heard how an investigation had been launched after a victim spotted Strong driving a nursery minibus, full of children, in 2007 and anonymously reported him to the NSPCC.
Imposing a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, Judge Peter Johnson told Strong: “You deliberately exposed yourself to the girls while they were babysitting.
“It is clear that your actions had a profound effect on these two women, causing them to question the activities of others.”
Strong will be supervised by the Probation Service for 18 months and must register as a sex offender for seven years.
He was banned from working with children.
