QUIRKY celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will be taking place in Christchurch over the weekend of festivities.
As well as many street parties and community celebrations, Christchurch council’s countryside service has organised a Jubi-Leaf 2012 Festival with activities taking place in nature reserves and other spaces across the borough.
The Leafy Library in the Woods event will take place on Saturday June 2 in Druitt Gardens from 10am.
A morning of family activities will include storytelling, “poetree”, book readings, music and a history walk, free of charge.
There are many more events being held between Friday June 1 and Wednesday June 6.
