FIVE men have been arrested after a nightclub worker was found dead at a Bournemouth flat.
The man, named locally as Scott Wilks, was discovered at the apartment in the Lansdowne area when paramedics and police were called out but it was too late.
No cause of death has been determined yet and the inquest is yet to be opened.
But after substances were found, a drug action team immediately sent out warnings about “fatal toxic drugs” in circulation with another man in intensive care, who is now said be stable and conscious.
A witness to the tragedy said he saw the 20-year-old fighting for his life at the flat, which is accessed via Lansdowne Mews, off Landsdowne Road.
“It was shocking and horrible,” he said.
“It’s one of the worst sights I’ve ever seen.”
The man, who asked not to be named, said his thoughts were with Mr Wilks’s family.
“He will be very much missed lad as he was bubbly and happy and always smiling,” he added.
Mr Wilks is a former Portchester School pupil who worked at the Dusk Till Dawn nightclub nearby, on Old Christchurch Road.
Mr Wilks was off work last Sunday night before he died and had been on a night out.
Tributes on Facebook said how he enjoyed a happy night out and a picture shows Mr Wilks enjoying himself at the Super Snakebite Sunday at the Walkabout venue.
Stephen Flawith, from Dusk Till Dawn, said how sad he was about the tragedy.
“Scott was a valued member of our team,” he said.
“He shall be sorely missed by all his colleagues and our thoughts and wishes go out to his family and loved ones.”
Dima Hogalov, 28, who lives close to the flat at the Lansdowne, said he saw police and ambulance arrive on Monday morning: “It was a surprise to see them as I had not heard anything,” he said.
A Dorset Police spokesman said they were called on Monday morning to a report that a man “had fallen seriously ill”.
He said the next of kin had been informed and the coroner had been notified.
Five Bournemouth men were arrested at the scene aged 22, 25, 25, 27 and 28. They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
“They were arrested on the suspicion of illegal supply of drugs,” the spokesman said.
“A quantity of substances believed to be illegal drugs were seized.”
Any witnesses or anyone else with information can call Dorset Police on 101.
