POOLE lifeboat helped with two dramatic incidents yesterday.
The RNLI’s inshore boat was asked at 6.45pm to rescue two jet skiers.
They had broken down and were stuck on a “notorious” sandbar, Hook Sands, just outside the entrance to Poole Harbour.
The two people were picked up by a passing speed boat but then the lifeboat was called to the chain ferry.
An 18ft boat had suffered engine failure and was trapped against the ferry. One person was on board and one woman was clinging to the ferry.
The crew coaxed her to the safety of the deck them towed the boat away from the ferry.
The RNLI crew then picked up the cold but unhurt jet skiers and took them to shore.
