THE hunt is on for Britain’s best beach huts and where better to start than sun-drenched Dorset?
With summer well and truly here, thoughts are turning to long days on the beach.
Now organisers of a national competition are asking for nominations for the Beach Hut of the Year contest, which is divided into five categories.
Two years ago Bournemouth grandmother Jean McCloy was victorious in the competition when her Alum Chine hut with its nautical theme attracted the most votes.
Now members of the public are being urged to put forward other huts that stand out from the crowd.
There are around 23,000 beach huts in the UK with some costing hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The five categories are Best Presented Hut, Best Beach Hut Art, Best Beach Hut Association, Best Beach Hut Story and Best Beach Hut Photograph.
