Harbour View Woodland Burial Ground and Tapper Funeral Service are sponsoring improvements to the Bakers Arms roundabout ahead of the Olympics this summer.
The roundabout has become overgrown in recent years, but the gateway to the Purbecks will become more prominent than ever as sailing fans from across the world descend on the area.
Steven Tapper, joint managing director at Harbour View Woodland Burial Ground and Tapper Funeral Service, said: “An incredible number of people drive around this roundabout every day and that number will increase dramatically over the coming months.
“This is a great project to be involved in and we are really pleased to be working with Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council on making the Bakers Arms an attractive landmark for local families and visitors.”
Beyond the summer, there will be further clearing and planting and a beacon is set to be installed in the centre.
“Lytchett Minster and Upton is a historical beacon town.
“It is an iconic symbol for the area and generations to come will lose that connection with the past if we don’t remind them.
“Hopefully, having a beacon in the middle of this roundabout will start people talking about the area’s history, both now and in the long term,” added Steven.
