A CHRISTCHURCH splashpark has re-opened after work to fix long-running maintenance issues was carried out.
The flagship facility at Christchurch Quay opened for public use on Friday morning after Christchurch council repaired a number of problems that had arisen since it opened.
The council was forced to carry out the repairs. Work included replacing the rubber surface to the central area as well as laying a new base to improve adhesion.
Pumps in the centre of the facility were also replaced as was a chlorine system with special anti-slip paint reapplied as well.
The facility underwent a full decoration and clean, with a new flagpole and flag as well as the main facility signage replaced after they were vandalised.
Around £3,000 held back from the company until work had been completed satisfactorily was used to cover the majority of the costs.
