A MAN who bit his girlfriend’s face in a Bournemouth bar has been jailed for 10 months.
Steven Aitken, 30, injured Lisa Woolley’s eye in the attack on a night out at The Old Firestation, Bournemouth Crown Court heard on Monday.
The couple were visiting from London with friends when Aitken, of Whitten Dean, Middlesex, leaned across Ms Woolley and bit her.
Aitken then threatened to kill Ms Woolley if she told anyone, the court heard.
But a fellow reveller came to her aid and called the police.
Aitken, who pleaded guilty to a count of causing actual bodily harm, has problems with drink and the couple had a history of domestic violence, it was heard.
Ximena Jones, mitigating, argued for a suspended sentence, saying Aitken was determined to change following the incident on October 8 last year.
Sentencing, Judge Samuel Wiggs said: “You were drunk at the time you bit your girlfriend.
“It could have been worse, but it was a very nasty incident.”
