‘CALLOUS’ burglars posed as tradesmen to steal from a 90-year-old woman and her son in Ferndown.
Two men were allowed into the back garden of the family’s home in Stapleford Avenue after calling round to discuss paving.
One of the offenders kept the mother and son talking while the other sneaked into the house through a kitchen door and stole a wallet and purse with credit cards and cash.
They also rifled through wardrobes and drawers.
Now detectives have released an e-fit of one of the men in a bid to catch the offenders, who struck at around 10am on Friday, May 4.
Detective Symon Clarke, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a particularly callous act carried out on a 90-year-old woman and her son.
“Following further enquiries, I am now able to release an e-fit of one of the men we believe is responsible for this distraction burglary.
“We are still very keen to hear from anybody who may have seen these two men acting suspiciously in the area of Stapleford Avenue at around 4pm on the day.”
The offender pictured in the e-fit was described as a large white man, aged around 40 with short dark hair and wearing a square-patterned pink and red coat.
His accomplice was described as slight build, aged around 35, with short, light-coloured hair.
