BOURNEMOUTH, Poole and Christchurch residents will have to use a dialling code when calling their neighbours, from November 2012, Ofcom has announced.
From November 1, callers who omit the 01202 dialling code when making local calls will hear a free message telling them to include it when they re-dial.
This change is designed to safeguard the future supply of landline numbers in the Bournemouth area and avoid the need to change existing phone numbers.
The cost of calls will not be affected. For more information, visit ofcom.org.uk/dialthecode
