THE line-up for a top Christchurch jazz festival has been announced with some new acts set to appear, along with the return of a few old favourites.
Stompin’ on the Quomps will take place on July 21 this year at Christchurch Quay.
New to the event this year are The BowBeauBelles, a vocal harmony group, and Blue Commotion, a six-piece blues band who will feature Henry Parker. That rich heritage is about to be heralded again in the form of the extraordinary prodigy guitarist Henry Parker.
Returning will be Lemongrove and Not Just Sax with the Taverners Big Band rounding off the day’s entertainment.
The event starts at noon and continues until 10pm and is free to members of the public.
During change-over, entertainment will be provided by community groups including The Swish of the Curtain Theatre Group and The Funky Little Choir.

“With the economic climate it hasn’t been easy to raise the funds this year, but we have received fantastic support from local businesses.
“The souvenir programme will be available in a few weeks’ time with full details, giving everyone a chance to plan their visit.
“Collections made from the audience at the 2011 event were the best ever and we hope that people will come along, enjoy the event and be just as generous.
“It all helps towards keeping the event free to enter.”
The programme will be available from the Christchurch Information Centre, The Regent Centre, the Captain’s Club Hotel and at the event itself.
