A missing 'vulnerable' man from Poole has returned safe and well.
A shoreline search was carried out last night after the 30-year-old was reported missing at around 7.30pm.
Poole's inshore RNLI lifeboat was launched an hour earlier to help search in the Canford Cliffs area.
Portland Coastguard and beach lifeguards raised the alarm to them, an RNLI spokesman said.
The crew began their hunt in Whitley Lake, in Poole Harbour, but then moved outside the harbour.
Poole Coastguard Search and Rescue officers and Dorset Police were also involved in the shoreline search.
The RNLI crew were stood down shortly after 9pm as nothing was found.
Police continued to look for the missing man this morning but did not release a description.
The man returned at 12.45pm today and is safe and well, a police spokesman said.
