FIREFIGHTERS were called to a flat in Bournemouth Road, Lower Parkstone, after a chip pan caught fire.
Crews from Westbourne and Redhill Park arrived at lunchtime on Tuesday to find that the fire had been put out.
They gave oxygen and fire safety advice to a 31-year-old woman.
A fire service spokesman said it was believed oil in the unattended pan caught light and reminded people never to leave cooking on its own.
